LONDONDERRY, NH (CNN) - A 9-year-old came home from the hospital this week after becoming ill last Easter, causing her to
lose her arms and legs to an infection.

Bella Tucker had been hospitalized since April due to a rare form of pneumonia. The 9-year-old slipped into a coma and doctors were forced to amputate her arms and legs.

Hundreds of volunteers worked on a 2,500-square-foot addition to the family's home.  The renovation features wheelchair-accessible ramps, hands-free toilets, and an elevator that reaches every level of the house.

Tucker picked out everything in her newly designed room and was thrilled to return home.

Donations from the community paid for the entire renovation project.
