After months of renovations, rehabilitation, and waiting, Bella Tucker will arrive in her new home, here in Londonderry, on November 7, 2010. Just in time for the holidays, she’ll be surrounded by family, friends and those that have come to know (and love) her over the last few months as she explores her newly remodeled home. The completed home will include a new garage for her van, a rehabilitation room, hospital level heating and cooling, accessible kitchen, baths, ramps and an elevator.
While the work on Bella’s house winds down there are still a few gaps where help is still needed. Anthony Nigro, a leader in the “Build for Bella” team, explained, “We are working 7 days a week, double shift so any time is appreciated to help push us over the finish. We are moving the family back in the first week in November and planning a big homecoming party for Bella on November 7th!” Assistance is needed for the following projects:
* Rough carpentry, labor (exterior doors, front porch, etc.)
* Finish carpentry, labor (interior doors, trim, rails, etc.)
* Painters, labor
* Exterior gutters, materials and labor
* Hardscape, materials and labor (pavers, retaining walls)
* Closet shelving, materials and labor
The “Build for Bella” team is hosting the homecoming on the seventh. The block party is a way for the community and the hundreds of volunteers who have helped to come together and meet the inspiration behind it all. Be sure to put aside some time and visit Bella and her family on this very special day for them. The party will begin at noon.
